Role-Playing Meets Real-Life Growth

Group Therapy via Tabletop Role-Playing

Adventure Therapy: A Path to Healing and Growth

Discover the power of group therapy via tabletop role-playing to overcome anxiety and depression.

I offer an engaging and evidence-based approach to group psychotherapy at the Adventure Therapy Clinic. Each member of the group will meet with me, Dr. Reilly, to discuss their challenges, hopes, and goals. I create groups with other like-minded people similar in age, and we will utilize tabletop roleplay. Don’t worry if you don’t know what that means yet; you will learn along the way.

Take a look at the complete list on the Research page on this website, with references to relevant studies. Or click on the video below to watch a presentation where I cover the relevant research.

Your Journey Begins with Character Creation

Each participant will create a character that reflects who they are and who they want to be. Then, they will join other participants in a collaborative adventure. The campaign utilizes mechanics similar to table-top role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons. The group is led by me, a Hawaii-licensed psychotherapist, with a campaign tailored to fit the client’s goals. The campaign is collaborative, so each one is different, and you will be creating it along with me.

Group Offerings

I provide specialized groups for different age brackets:

Teens (14-18)

Young Adults
(20-26)

Adults (26+)

Each group comprises 5-6 participants, ensuring an intimate setting conducive to connection and development.
